چکیده

We report the electrical and optical properties of two-component blends of electron and hole transporting materials in single and bilayer structures for organic light emitting diode ~OLED! applications. The materials considered were a blue-emitting bipolar transporting polyfluorene, poly~9,9-di-n-hexylfluorene! ~DHF!, and a hole-transporting material, poly-@4-nhexyltriphenylamine# ~HTPA!. We compare the steady state OLED performance, transport, and optical properties of devices and describe morphology studies of the polymer films based on cross-linkable ~x! blends with the analogous non-cross-linkable blends. The cross-linkable blends exhibit highest efficiency at low concentrations of the hole transporting material. At these concentrations the single layer OLEDs reach efficiencies greater than 0.1%, and are higher than for single layer x-DHF or the binary non-cross-linkable blend by more than an order of magnitude. Bilayer structures with homogeneous x-HTPA as hole transport layer show efficiencies between 0.08% and 0.96%, depending on the blend concentration in the emitting layer and on the top contact. We interpret these results in terms of the relative degree of phase segregation in the cross-linked networks versus the non-cross-linkable blends. © 2003 American Institute of Physics. @DOI: 10.1063/1.1599625#

Tuning emission colors from blue to green in polymeric light-emitting diodes fabricated using polyfluorene blends.

The photo- and electroluminescent properties of single-layer two-component blends composed of one blue emitter polymer and one green emitter polymer were studied. The blue emitter, poly[(9,9-dioctylfluorenyl-2,7-diyl)-alt-co-(9,9-di-{5'-pentanyl}-fluorenyl-2,7-diyl)] (PFOFPen), was used as the matrix, and the green emitter, poly[(9,9-dihexylfluorenyl-2,7-diyl)-alt-co-(bithiophene)] (F6T2), was ...

Ultra-flexible nonvolatile memory based on donor-acceptor diketopyrrolopyrrole polymer blends

Flexible memory cell array based on high mobility donor-acceptor diketopyrrolopyrrole polymer has been demonstrated. The memory cell exhibits low read voltage, high cell-to-cell uniformity and good mechanical flexibility, and has reliable retention and endurance memory performance. The electrical properties of the memory devices are systematically investigated and modeled. Our results suggest t...

Improving power efficiencies in polymer—polymer blend photovoltaics

The use of blends of electron and hole transporting polymers has been shown to increase exciton dissociation and efficiency in polymer-based photovoltaics. We compare plain M3EHPPV devices to M3EH-PPV:CN-ether-PPV blend devices, demonstrating the improved performance of blends. We vary the polymer layer thickness and device electrodes for M3EHPPV:CN-ether-PPV polymer blend devices to investigat...
